Last Friday Nights
Last Friday Night is our monthly worship and testimony night where we go deeper with God and each other. “To love at all is to be vulnerable” and at LFN we are real and authentic with one another. LFN is usually on a rooftop under the stars in Manoa. It begins with pizza and hanging out. Then we sing many worship songs with a featured testimony in between. This first testimony opens the night for everyone else to share if they’d like and then we end our time with communion. LFN is a powerful and essential part of who we are as a church as we share our lives with each other and let the Holy Spirit lead.
“Bro Time” is our men’s small group that meets every Monday night. Bro Time is a time to be real together as men, study the Bible, and have lots of fun! We usually meet at an apartment, but often go out to eat, barbecue, or play games. True discipleship happens at Bro Time and the men are growing closer to God together.
Once a month we surf together before church! We surf Publics surf spot in Waikiki. We have extra boards you can use if you don’t have your own and we can teach you too. This is a fun time in the water together as a beach church.
The Gathering has an official partnership with University of Hawaii Cru. We lead worship at their weekly gathering once a month and Bro Time is Cru’s men’s discipleship group. The Gathering is also involved with Christian clubs at Hawaii Pacific University and Chaminade University. We connect easily with college kids and have a heart to encourage them in their faith and journey in life.
"To reach people who have never been reached before we have to do things that have never been done before."
Waikiki Beach is the most famous beach in the world where locals, tourists, and homeless gather. Our mission field is right here. We get to know the homeless and help them out. We also hand out water bottles to partiers enjoying the night life. There are so many opportunities to reach people for Jesus in our neighborhood as a church and individually.
